Terms of Service

By commissioning me, you agree to the following:

Half of the payment must be received before the commission will be started.
The other half of the payment must be received before the finished piece is delivered.

You may:

Repost your fully paid commission with credit. Link to the lykus.art website or an appropriate social media account, please.
Use the artwork or design for whatever personal use you like, as long as credit is given if it is displayed online or to the public. You may print the artwork for yourself, but never sell it to others without a prior contract.
Crop the drawing to use for an icon or backdrop (credit is appreciated, especially if the watermark is not visible).
Claim the right to the character I designed for you - but never the illustration itself.
Change details of a design I created for you when drawing them, or commissioning art of them from someone else.

You will not:

Claim my artwork as your own, or attempt to remove my watermark.
Repost my artwork without credit.
Edit my artwork without permission (color changes, tracing, etc.)
Take work-in-progress images to another artist to be finished, or to be corrected in some way.
Resell (especially for profit), monetize a design that I created for you, or sell merch / prints of my drawing, without a prior contract. If you are looking for commercial artwork, you must clarify this and work with me accordingly to decide compensation.
Use my art in relation to NFTs or blockchains.
Train AI programs using my art, or run them through any technology relating to Artificial Intelligence.

You acknowledge that:

I have the right to refuse any order for any reason. Filling out my form does not guarantee that I will accept the project.
Base prices are subject to change, determined by my sole discretion on how complex the request is.
Art takes time. I work at the fastest pace that I can, and I may work on more than one commission at a time. More complex pieces will take longer. I will notify you if anything in life keeps me from working on your order. If you did not pay a deadline fee, then there is no guaranteed date that you will be receiving your piece. I can give you an estimate, but it is not promised.
I may stream your commission on my Twitch, and / or post WIP and final images on my social media. If this is undesired, you must let me know beforehand. If you require me not to show my progress or finished products on social media for some time, it will incur a 50% privacy fee. I will also need to know the date (if ever) that I can share my work. However, this does not GUARANTEE that I will share the art in any way, and you are not entitled to me streaming it.
I am not open to copying other artist's styles. While you can send me art as inspiration, I will purely use it to influence mood, aesthetic, pose, or composition. Nothing will be exact copies, and all art will be in the style shown in my portfolio pieces.
Finally and most importantly, that all of your needs are taken care of first! Art is a luxury - a want and not a need.

Payment:

Full refunds are only given if I haven't begun work on the commission, or I, personally, have to cancel on you. I have the right to cancel at any time.
If you cancel or refuse to pay further after I have started drawing, all access to the art I made for you is revoked - you have no right to bring any unfinished drawings to another artist, or complete them yourself. If you cancel during the sketch phase, you will be charged the price of the sketch only, and the rest will be refunded. If you cancel past that stage being completed (after I've reviewed it with you), then you will not be reimbursed at all.

Revisions:

I will confer with you for corrections and feedback after the sketch and color phase, and once more for small adjustments when the piece is finished.
At my discretion, I may charge extra if you ask me to make significant or copious changes beyond the sketch / color phase. So, please, make sure everything is drawn as you like before I put in a lot of work to polish it! You'll be given notice if a correction will incur a fee before I go ahead with it.

Intellectual Property Rights:

By commissioning me, you are purchasing my labor and a digital copy of my artwork, and the rights to the character design if I am creating it for you.
I retain all the rights to the actual artwork itself, which include but are not limited to: the right to display the work in my portfolio, use it as a sample for sales or self-promotion, making a profit, streaming the process live, posting to my social media, etc. - unless contracted otherwise.
I will never lay claim to your character(s), and will make it clear it is a commission, as well as tag you in social media posts if you provide a username.

I'm Lykus - or as my friends call me, Ly!
I am 24 years old, and my pronouns are they/them.I am a freelance digital artist, and also stream on Twitch as a VTuber, on the side.My focus is character art and design. I love to breathe life into other people's ideas, and illustrate what they have been envisioning in their mind for all to finally see. It's important to me that I work closely with my clients, so that I can really capture the spirit and personality of their characters. Many years of designing and worldbuilding experience allows me to offer my expertise by suggesting details, colors, and clothing to give the concept some extra flair.I especially enjoy drawing those from table-top roleplaying games (such as Dungeons & Dragons), RPG and MMO games, as well as original characters for written roleplay.
